The Power District is accepting applications for the position of groundman. This is a full time position with benefits. A groundman assists linemen in the construction, operation and maintenance of overhead and underground power distribution and transmission facilities. This employee shall be required to perform manual labor and at times may be required to operate heavy equipment. This employee may be called upon to lift heavy objects and work long hours under strenuous conditions. This employee must be available for after-hour standby on a regularly scheduled basis. This employee will be required to obtain a Nevada Commercial Driver’s License, become certified in forklift and derrick truck operation, become certified in pole climbing and pole top rescue, become certified in first aid and cardio pulmonary resuscitation, and become certified in the District’s lock-out/tag-out procedures. The District will provide training to all employees. Failure to obtain required licenses and certifications may result in termination.
